 * the aseg gray matter shouldn't be used - that the surface should be. And we should really use the surfaces to generate wm estimates as well. Xiao has a program called mris_volume that will compute the volume inside a surface. The volumes would be:

gm volume = pial volume - white volume
wm volume = white volume - (ventricles+caudate+putamen+pallidum+thalamus)
